The Northland Community & Technical College volleyball team remained unbeaten at home with a three-set win over Rainy River Wednesday night.
The Pioneers trailed the Voyageurs 14-9 at one point in the first set, before reeling off 13 unanswered points – 12 of the 13 came off the serve of
Liberty Johnson – to win the set 25-18. The Pioneers led from start to finish in 25-19 win in the second set, and they rallied from an 18-14 deficit to win the third set 25-23.
With the win, Northland improves its record to 5-3 in the MCAC Northern Division and 5-7 overall. Rainy River falls to 1-7 in Northern Divison matches and 3-14 overall.
