Kickoff for todays game originally scheduled for 1:30 pm at Swenson Field in Thief River Falls has been rescheduled and moved to East Grand Forks Senior High. Kickoff is set for 6 pm.
Northland Community & Technical College (2-1 division, 3-3 overall) hosts North Dakota State College of Science (2-0 division, 4-1 overall) in a week seven battle between the top two teams in the MCAC Western Division standings. Kickoff is set for 6 pm at East Grand Forks Senior High.
Northland has won the past four head-to-head meetings with NDSCS. The Pioneers defeated the Wildcats 42-30 in the 2017 regular season and 17-10 in the opening round of the 2017 MCAC Playoffs, with both games taking place in Thief River Falls. In 2018, the Pioneers won the first meeting 14-7 in Wahpeton, N.D., before claiming the rematch 34-10 in the MCAC State Championship game in St. Cloud.
Both teams control their own destiny for the postseason. A win for NDSCS over Northland will effectively clinch the division title, a first round bye and a home MCAC semifinal game. A win for Northland over NDSCS clinches a home playoff game for the Pioneers. It also sets up a scenario where the Pioneers can win the division and secure a first round bye with a week nine win at Central Lakes.
