Thief River Falls - The Northland men's basketball shot rallied from a 16-point halftime deficit only to come up four points short in a 73-69 loss to Rochester Friday night in Thief River Falls.
The game was effectively a tale of two halves. The first half was all Yellowjackets, who started the game on a 24-6 run and led 37-21 at the break.
The Pioneers, who shot just 29 percent from the field in the first half, sunk seven second half three pointers in a 48-point second half rally.
Five of Northland's seven second half three-pointers came from sophomore
Bakri Gubara, who finished with 32 points and four rebounds. Also in double figures for the Pioneers were
Ibrahim Nasir with 11 points and
Neal Garcia with 10.
