Thief River Falls - The Northland women's basketball team dropped a 73-50 decision to Lake Region Tuesday night in Thief River Falls. The Lady Royals sunk 17 of 34 first half field goal attempts, including 6-for-12 from beyond the arch, en route to a 41-24 halftime advantage. The host Pioneers went just 1-for-14 from beyond the arch and 18-for-48 overall, while falling to 0-4 on the season.
After opening the season with four games against scholarship programs, the Pioneers will face their first non-scholarship opponents this weekend. Northland travels to Worthington, MN to face Minnesota West Friday at 5:30 p.m., before concluding the trip with a game at Ridgewater (Willmar, MN) 1 p.m. Saturday.
