Thief River Falls - Northland Community & Technical College overcame a 20-12 third quarter deficit to defeat Minnesota West Community & Technical College 27-26 Saturday at Swenson Field in Thief River Falls.
Saturday's game featured five lead changes and a pair of ties, with the final lead change taking place early in the fourth quarter. Trailing 26-20, Northland took the lead for the final time on a five-play, 32-yard drive that concluded with a two-yard touchdown run by Raphael Bell. Kicker Rashidi Kikopa added the extra point that proved to be the game-winner.
With the win, the Pioneers improved to 2-1 in the MCAC Western Division and 3-3 overall, while Minnesota West fell to 1-1 in division play and 3-2 overall.
