Thief River Falls - The Northland women's basketball team took control early and never looked back in an 89-22 win over Itasca Wednesday night. The Pioneers led 20-7 after one quarter was in the books and by halftime the Pioneers built a 45-10 lead. Northland continued to play strong defense in the second half, holding Itasca to seven points in the third quarter and five in the fourth.
Carly Mekash and
Macy Skyberg each finished with 19 points to lead the Pioneers in scoring. Overall, Northland had five players finish in double figures.
