Thief River Falls, Minn. - The Northland Community & Technical College women's basketball claimed a 67-41 win over M State-Fergus Falls in an MCAC inter-division game Tuesday night in Thief River Falls.
The Pioneers trailed on two occasions early, but took the lead for good on a
Kasey Stegman jumper with 8:28 remaining in the opening quarter. Stegman's jumper gave the Pioneers a 5-4 lead that would balloon to 18-8 after the first 10 minutes were in the books. The Pioneers stretched the lead to 22 points at the half and 29 points through three quarters.
Jackie Lynn Taflin,
Macy Skyberg and Stegman all reached double figures in scoring for the Pioneers. Taflin scored 11 points and added nine rebounds. Skyberg scored 20 points and led the Pioneers with five assists. Stegman added 10 points.
