Thief River Falls, Minn. - The Northland Community & Technical College women's basketball team dropped a 54-46 decision to the University of Jamestown JV team Monday, Nov. 8 at the Northland Gym.
The Pioneers started off strong and held a 15-14 edge through 10 minutes of play. The Jimmies took control of the game in the second quarter and built an eight-point halftime lead that grew to 15 points by the end of the third quarter. The Pioneers rallied in the fourth quarter and made things interesting by getting to within six points of the Jimmies with a little under a minute left to play. The Jimmies eventually closed out the Pioneers for the eight-point win.
Jackie Lynn Taflin was the only Pioneer in double figures, scoring 10 points and adding three rebounds and two assists.
Keylee Dahl scored nine points and added a team-high seven rebounds, while
Chloe Kuznia came off the bench to lead the Pioneers in assists with four, while also scoring six points.
Up next for the Northland women's basketball team is a Tuesday, Nov. 16 trip to Devils Lake, N.D., to face Lake Region State College in a non-conference game. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
