Pioneers swept by Blue Devils on first road trip

Austin, MN -   The Riverland Blue Devils looked to be in midseason form while sweeping a four-game baseball series against the Northland Pioneers Friday, April 2 and Saturday, April 3. The Blue Devils claimed Friday's opener 11-1 in five innings and plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take game two by a 13-10 score.
A big sixth inning was the key again in game three of the series on Saturday, as the Blue Devils scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie. The Pioneers scored once in the top of the seventh but couldn't close the gap any further as the Blue Devils claimed game three by a score of 6-3  Game four followed the same pattern as games two and three. The Pioneers led 5-4 going into the bottom of the sixth inning but ended up losing the game 9-5 after surrendering five runs in the bottom of the sixth.
