St. Cloud, MN -     Eighth ranked St. Cloud Technical and Community College flexed its muscle with a pair of lopsided wins over Northland Community & Technical College Saturday in Thief River Falls, before completing the weekend sweep with two more wins Sunday in St. Cloud. 

The Pioneers led 7-1 after scoring seven runs on four hits in the bottom of the third in game one Saturday, but they couldn't keep pace as the Cyclones answered with seven runs on four hits in the fourth and 10 runs on five hits in the fifth to take an 18-7 lead that held up for the final score. The Cyclones stayed hot in game two, scoring 12 runs in the top of the first and never looking back in a 22-1 five-inning game.

The Pioneers were able to close the gap on the Cyclones as the series shifted to St. Cloud. The Pioneers scored a run in the top of the sixth to gut the deficit to two runs, but the Cyclones answered with a five-run sixth to put an end to the rally. The Pioneers were held to just two hits in game two, as the Cyclones completed the sweep with an 8-1 win.
