International Falls - The Northland volleyball team took a business trip to International Falls Wednesday night and the Pioneers took care business quickly, defeating the Rainy River Voyageurs in straight sets.
The Pioneers won the opener 25-16. The Voyageurs battled back in the second set but the Pioneers prevailed 25-20, before dominated the third set 25-13.
Finishing in double figures for the Pioneers were
Chloe Kuznia with 32 assists,
Madison Witte with 16 kills,
Kylie Solheim with 18 digs, and
Vivian Coan with 13 digs.
The Pioneers host a pair of home matches Saturday. The Pioneers will face eighth ranked nationally and MCAC Northern Division-leading Central Lakes at noon, and they will end the day against Lake Region State College (N.D.) in a non-conference match at 4 p.m.
