Thief River Falls, Minn. - The Northland Men's Basketball team defeated the Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College Thunder 96-74 Saturday at the Northland Gym. It was the Pioneers' second consecutive win as the team improved to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the MCAC North.
The Pioneers had five players in double figures, led by a 24-point outing from
Quincy Leday.
Ashawn Phillips and
Zack Meyer both finished with double-doubles for the Pioneers. Phillips scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Meyer scored 15 points with 12 rebounds. Also in double figures for the Pioneers were
D'Mani Nettles with 14 points and
Ryan England with 11 points off the bench.
The Pioneers are back in action Sunday, traveling to Bottineau, N.D. to face the Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks.
