The Northland men's basketall team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 65-64 win over Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College Saturday in Cloquet.
The Pioneers built a 42-38 lead following a high-scoring first half. Points were much harder to combe by in the second with, the Pioneers holding off the Thunder for the one-point win.
Fond du Lac's Sean Millsaps led all scorers with 26 points.
The Pioneers were led by
Malic Osei-Tutu, who scored 22 points with four rebounds and an assist. Also reaching double figures for the Pioneers were
AJ Jennings, with 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists; and
Ashawn Phillips with 10 points and nine rebounds.
The Pioneers are on the road for a pair of MCAC Northern Division games this week. They travel to Brainerd Wednesday night to face the Central Lakes Raiders (4-0, 10-6) at 7:30 p.m., before heading to International Falls to face the Rainy River Voyageurs (3-1, 12-4) on Saturday at 3 p.m.
