Dubuque, Iowa - 

Northland freshman Josiah Crandall was the top performer for the Northland men's wrestling Saturday with a fifth-place finish at 125 pounds at the Jim Fox Invitational. The event was hosted by the University of Dubuque. 

Crandall bounced back from a tough opening-round loss by fall to Dylan Clifford of the University of Chicago with a win by fall over Eduardo Tostado of the University of Wisconsin-Plattville. Crandall was in on three single leg shots in the opening period but was unable to score against Matt Perez of Chicago in their consolation semifinal bout. Perez eventually got to his offense and defeated Crandall 11-4 en route to a third place finish at 125. Crandall, meanwhile bounced back from the consolation quarterfinal loss with a solid 8-5 win over Wisconsin-Plattville's JJ Poarch. 

Freshman Ethan Horn defaulted out of the tournament due to injury and also finished fifth at 149 pounds. Elijah Miranda, 174, and Dexter Pollard, 285, added seventh- and eighth-place finishes, respectively. 

Also placing for the Northland men's team were unattached wrestlers Christian Kirchner, seventh at 141 and Josh Herrera, sixth at 174.
