Grand Rapids, Minn. - 
Minnesota North College - Itasca claimed a pair of two-run wins over Northland to sweep a double header between the teams by scores of 7-5 and 11-9 Wednesday afternoon in Grand Rapids. 
The Pioneers led 4-1 through three and a half innings in Wednesday's opener, but the Vikings took 5-4 lead with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings. 
The Pioneers scored a run in the top of the sixth to tie the contest 5-5. The Vikings answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the opener 7-5.
The Vikings took control early in game two, plating three runs in each of the first two innings. 
The Pioneers plated three runs of their own in the third and fourth innings, but the Vikings answered each time, with two runs in the third and three runs in the fourth to maintain an 11-6 lead. 
The Pioneers got three more in the top of the sixth but couldn't draw any closer. 
The Pioneers fell to 6-8 in MCAC North play and 14-18 overall. The Vikings improved to 14-2 in MCAC North play and 24-14 overall.  
Noah Warne took the loss in game one after allowing two earned runs in his one and a third innings on the hill. 
Connor Hoyt allowed three runs on four hits in his only inning of work in game two and took the loss.
