The Northland volleyball team dropped its second straight match Wednesday night, losing a three-set match to MCAC Northern Division-leading Alexandria Technical & Community College in Alexandria. The Pioneers started slow and dropped the opening set 25-10. They fared a little better in the second set, but still came up short in a 25-16 setback. The Pioneers came close to extending the match to a fourth set, with a competitive third set. They couldn't close out the Legends, however, who rallied for a 26-24 third set win.
The Pioneers were back in action Friday with a trip to Ironwood, Mich., where they will play non-conference matches against host Gogebic Community College and Minnesota North College - Rainy River.
