International Falls, Minn. - 

Northland Community & Technical College won its third straight match and eighth overall Wednesday night, defeating Minnesota North College - Rainy River in International Falls in four sets. The Pioneers dropped the opening set 25-22, but rallied to win the final three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-17.

Freshman Riley Gust had a big night at the net for the Pioneers with 17 kills, a pair of solo blocks and a block assist. Giselle Cole also reached double figures in assists with 11, while adding a pair of solo blocks and a block assist. 

Sophomore setter Sunny Edin finished with 40 assists and six kills. Freshman Jada Kosmatka recorded five service aces. Freshman hitter Allyson Hart led the Pioneers with 16 digs and added nine kills. 

Up next for the Pioneers is a trip to the Iron Range. Northland faces Minnesota North College Vermilion at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range at noon Saturday.
