Northland Community & Technical College defeated Concordia College - Moorhead JV 68-64 in a non-conference women's basketball game Monday night at the Northland gym. 

Both teams got off to a fast start, with the Pioneers holding a slim 17-14 edge after the first quarter was in the books. The Pioneers widened the gap in the second period and took a 35-25 lead into the locker room.

The Cobbers rallied in the third quarter and cut the Pioneers' lead to four points (42-38) with 5:06 remaining, but the Pioneers answered with a 7-0 run to go up by 11. The Cobbers got to within eight points of the Pioneers by the end of the third quarter and they kept battling in the fourth quarter to eventually tie the game 61-61 on a Kinsley Dupong layup with 1:50 remaining. 

Sophomore Emma Osborn broke the tie with her sixth three-point bucket of the night and freshman Hannah Halvorson scored on a layup following a Concordia turnover to put the Pioneers up 66-61 with 1:04 left to play. Two possessions later, Osborn added to the lead going 1-for-2 after she was fouled by the Cobbers with 25 seconds remaining. 

Concordia's Leah Lenz drained a three-point bucket with 18 seconds remaining to cut the Prowler lead back to three points. The Cobbers were forced to foul once again and they fouled freshman guard Josie Iverson with 13 seconds remaining. Iverson made one of two free throws to put the Prowlers up by four, which would hold up as the final margin. 

Osborn led all scorers with 28 points. Iverson also reached double figures in scoring with 12 points and five assists. Freshman Tiyana Schwinghammer was close to a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.
