Wahpeton, N.D. -
The Northland women's basketball team saw its winning streak stopped at five games with a 94-50 loss at NJCAA Division I power North Dakota State College of Science Wednesday night.
The Pioneers were able to play with the Wildcats for one quarter, with the Wildcats leading 20-15 after 10 minutes were complete. The Wildcats' lead had grown to 17 points by the end of the first half, and they continued to build from their, leading 69-41 after three quarters.
NDSCS had five players reach double figures in scoring, with Savanna Jones leading the way with 19 points. Scoring leaders for the Pioneers were freshman
Josie Iverson with 17 points, and sophomore
Emma Osborn with 11. Freshman
Tiyana Schwinghammer continued to dominate the boards for the Pioneers with a game-high 14 rebounds.
Northland fell to 10-4 overall with the loss, while NDSCS improved to 13-2 with its win.
