Thief River Falls, MN - 

The Northland women's basketball team opened MCAC North play with a dominant 96-32 win over MCAC North College - Vermilion Saturday in the Northland Gym. The Pioneers scored at least 15 points in each quarter, with a high of 33 in the second. 

Sophomore Emma Osborn led the Pioneers with a season-high 31 points, with 27 coming on three-point buckets. 

Freshman Tiyana Schwinghammer dominated the boards with 15 rebounds, and she added 15 points for her sixth double-double of the season. Sunny Edin and Ashley Gereau both scored 11 points while coming off the bench and starting point guard Josie Iverson added 10 points to go along with six assists. 

The Ironhawks dressed just five players, with Ceryiah Bradford scoring 12 points to lead the team. 

The Pioneers are back in action Wednesday as they travel to Grand Rapids to face Minnesota North College - Itasca at 5:30 p.m.
