Hibbing, Minn. - 

The Northland Community & Technical College Volleyball team dropped a five-set match at Minnesota North College - Hibbing Friday night (Oct. 11). 
The Pioneers swept the Cardinals (25-11, 25-19, 25-16) when the teams met in the Northland Gym on Sept. 14. Almost a month later, the Pioneers were poised for another sweep after taking the first two sets 25-23 and 25-18. 
The Cardinals avoided the sweep with a 25-23 win in the second set, before forcing a fifth and final set with a 25-13 win in the fourth. From there, the Cardinals rode the momentum of the third and fourth sets and completed the comeback with a 15-12 fifth-set win. 
The Cardinals improved to 5-9 in the MCAC North and 5-13 overall. The Pioneers dropped to 7-4 in the MCAC North and 10-9 overall.
