Thief River Falls, Minn. - 

The Northland Community & Technical College Men's Wrestling Team had its hands full Wednesday night in a 48-6 loss to NCAA Division II Minnesota State University Moorhead. Wednesday's dual meet was the third between the programs, with MSUM improving to 3-0 in the series. 

The Dragons got on the board at 125 pounds with a win by fall from Clayson Mele over Josiah Crandall. Mele's win by fall was one of four for the Dragons, who also got pins from Anthony Sykora over Mitchell Christen at 174; Isaiah Huus over Qilee Jackson at 197; and Liam Babitt over Avant Jackson at 285. 

The Pioneers got their only win of the dual at 133, with freshman Kameron Palmer accepting a forfeit. 

The Dragons picked up a pair of major decisions at 141 and 149, with Pedro Velazquez winning 13-1 over Ethan Horn and Beau Daily winning 11-3 over Kale Geiser. 

The Dragons added wins by technical fall at 157 and 165, with former Thief River Falls wrestler Cody Wienen defeating Christian Kirchner 18-0 at 157; and former RLCC/Thief River Falls wrestler Damon Ferguson defeating Bryan Arevalo 18-2. 

Rounding out the scoring for MSUM was Wayne Mellon winning by forfeit at 184. 

The Pioneers are back in action Saturday at the Auggie Invitational hosted by the University of Augsburg.
