Minot, N.D. -
A pair of Northland Community & Technical College women's wrestlers competed in exhibition matches at the Third Annual Beaver Bash Duals Saturday in Minot, N.D. The Pioneers did not compete as a team in the dual-format tournament but the team was represented by sophomore
Arionna Beatty and freshman
Brianna Berg, who combined to go 4-1 in exhibition matches.
Beatty, currently ranked third in the Open Mat's NJCAA Women's Rankings at 138 pounds, and seventh at 145 pounds in the NJCAA Coaches Poll, pinned Ann Meiman of Jamestown and Lovey Beebe of Minot State to improve to 5-2 on the season.
Berg, a Minnesota state place winner last year, made her collegiate debut with a 12-2 loss to Nora Houglum. She bounced back with a pair of wins over Minot State opponents, defeating former North Dakota state champion and 2024 NCAA national qualifier Haliegh Lematta by fall, and Emily Light by 15-5 technical call.
Up next for the Northland Women's Wrestling team is a Dec. 7 trip to Chadron, Neb., for the Chadron State Open.
