The Northland men's basketball team struggled to match the scoring pace of Minnesota State Community & Technical College in a 95-59 loss Tuesday night night in Fergus Falls. The Pioneers were outscored 11-1 over the first 4:17 and trailed 57-26 at the break.
The Spartans scored on over 50 percent of their field goal attempts (36-for-67) and nearly 50 percent of their three-point attempts (14-for-29). Yonus Mohamud led all scorers with 23 points. He was one of four Spartans to reach double figures. Also reaching double figures were Javin Tindall, 19, MasonMuir, 15, and Foday Sheriff, 14.
Isaiah Brown led a trio of Pioneers in double-figure scoring with 19 points and 11 boards. Also reaching double-digits for the Pioneers were the Aime brothers, with
Zeke Aime scoring 12 points and Etienne addind 10.
Up next for the Pioneers is a Tuesday, Nov. game against Oak Hills Christian College. The opening tip is set for 6:30 p.m.
