Hibbing, Minn. - 

Northland rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to defeat Minnesota North College Hibbing 70-63 Wednesday in Hibbing. 

The Pioneers and Cardinals exchanged the lead on several occasions in the opening half, with the Cardinals leading by as many as nine points. 

The Pioneers ended the first half on a 4-0 run to make the score 34-29 at the break. The Cardinals led by as many as nine points again in the second half, with the Cardinals in front 38-29, but the Pioneers kept answering. The Pioneers eventually knotted the game 51-51 with 7:12 left to play. The Pioneers took control from there, outscoring the Cardinals 19-12 over the final seven minutes. 

Tavon Petteway came off the bench to score 22 points and collect nine rebounds in his 25 minutes of work. Shawn Greene finished in double figures with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Carey Davis also reached double figures for the Pioneers with 16 points. 

Hibbing's Jalen Thorns led all scorers with 24 points. 

The Pioneers improved to 5-21 overall and 2-9 against MCAC North opponents. MNC-Hibbing fell to 4-24 overall and 1-10 in division play. 

The Pioneers wrap up the 2023-24 season Saturday against Central Lakes College at 3 p.m.
