Pioneers are blanked twice by Raiders

April 17–Thief River Falls, Minn. - 

The Northland softball team was swept Wednesday afternoon double header played in cold and windy weather at field number two in the Multi-Events Center complex Wednesday afternoon.   
The Raiders brought a perect 8-0 conference record and 15-11 mark overall into Wednesday's twin bill. They outscored the Pioneers 21-0 aided by four home runs from Emma Tautges, Emma Simon and Gabrielle Dulas (2) in game one. Game two was more of the same, with the Raiders winning 15-0, with two more long balls off the bats of Simon and Natalie Kossan.     
Kennedy Wallace took the loss for the Pioneers in game one. She went the distance and allowed 16 hits and walked four batters. Central Lakes starter Emma Tautges allowed just one hit in the five-inning win for the Raiders.     
Wallace and Mariah Graves shared pitching duties in game two, with the Raiders collecting 12 hits and eight walks.     
Central Lakes' game two starter Kaitlyn Geschwill picked up her ninth win of the season. She allowed just two hits, didn't walk a batter and struck out 11 in her five innings of work.

The Pioneers are back in action Friday with a trip to International Falls to face Minnesota North College - Rainy River (4-0, 6-8) for a doubleheader with game one at 3 p.m. On Saturday the Pioneers travel to Minnesota North College -Vermilion (2-6, 2-13) for a doubleheader with game one at noon.
