Minnesota North College swept Northland Community & Technical College in an MCAC Northern Division doubleheader Friday afternoon. The doubleheader was moved to Franklin Middle School due poor playing conditions at Northland's field and the Multi-Events Center fields.
The Voyageurs defeated the Pioneers 16-8 and 12-4 in a pair of meetings on Sunday, April 28 in International Falls. They completed the season-sweep with a 10-8 win in game one and 15-5 in game two.
The Pioneers are back in action Saturday against Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range in their final home games of the season. Game one is set for 11 a.m. at the Multi-Events Center Field 1.
The Pioneers are currently in fourth place in the division with a record of 6-8. The Pioneers trail third-place MNC-Mesabi Range by two games in the division standings with four head-to-head games remaining. The top three teams in the MCAC North qualify for the Region 13B Tournament, which will be held next weekend in Brainerd.
