Northland Community & Technical College came up short in its attempt to rally from a two-set deficit Wednesday night against Alexandria Technical & Community College in an MCAC North volleyball match-up Wednesday night in Alexandria.
The Legends won the first two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-18. The Pioneers began their rally with a 25-20 third-set win. The Legends held off the Pioneers' rally with a 25-23 win in the fourth set.
Northland fell to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in the MCAC North with the loss. Alexandria improved to 7-2 overall with the win and 5-0 in the conference.
The Pioneers are back in action Friday and Saturday with a pair of home games. Northland hosts Gogebic at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13 and Minnesota North College - Hibbing at noon on Saturday.
