Thief River Falls, Minn. - 

Northland Community & Technical College overcame a sloppy second quarter to pick up a convincing 84-41 win over MState-Fergus Falls Monday night in Thief River Falls. 

Monday's game was a rescheduled game that was originally slated to be played on Nov. 16. That game was canceled due to an illness leaving MState without enough players. The two teams also met on Nov. 26 with the Pioneers claiming a 74-43 win. 

The Pioneers started fast Monday night, scoring eight unanswered points to open the game. The pace slowed from there, but the Pioneers still managed to build a 20-8 lead by the end of the opening quarter. 

The Spartans put up a fight in the second frame and got to within six points of the Pioneers, 27-21, with 4:24 remaining in the half. The Pioneers regrouped and took a 32-24 lead into the locker room. 

The Pioneers owned the third and fourth quarters Monday night. After scoring 32 points in the first half, the Pioneers scored 29 points in the third quarter and added 23 more in the fourth to top the 80-point mark for the sixth time this season. 

Jade Reese led the Pioneers in scoring with 17 points. Rylie Klopp, 14, Tiyana Schwinghammer, 13, and Josie Iverson, 11, also finished in double figures for the Pioneers.
