Thief River Falls, Minn. - 

The Northland women's basketball team won its 16th straight game Saturday with a dominant 98-45 win over Goebic Community College in a non-conference game. 

The Pioneers honored five sophomores prior to Saturday's non-conference game against the Sampsons. Playing in their final regular season home game for the Pioneers were sophomores Josie Iverson, Tiyana Schwinghammer, Hannah Halvorson and Leslie Murken. Also honored but not playing Saturday was Tegan Fitzsimonds.

All four sophomores in uniform had strong showings. Iverson recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists. Schwinghammer appeared to be on her way to a triple-double for a while, before settling for 30 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in her 28 minutes of work, and Halvorson, with10 points and seven rebounds, and Murken with six points off the bench. Also finishing in double figures were freshmen Jade Reese and Rylie Klopp scoring 15 and 14 points, respectively. 

The Pioneers improved to 19-4 overall with the win. They wrap-up the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Central Lakes.
