Thief River Falls, Minn. - 

Nine Northland Community & Technical College baseball players have been named to the Minnesota College Athletic Conference's All-Northern Division First, Second or Third Team, while Head Coach Jonathan Lund has been named the Northern Division Coach of the Year. 

First Team selections include sophomore Justin Amesquita, first base and relief pitcher; sophomore Tyler Tamez, center field; freshman Brandon Castilleja; and freshman Kyle Robinson, pitcher. Second Team selections include freshman Joshua Torres, third base; and sophomore Dylan Smith, right field. Third team selections include sophomore Cooper Lawrence, left field; sophomore Gamaliel Vasquez, designated hittter; and freshman Austin Amesquita, catcher.   

This is Lund's second season at Northland and first Northern Division Coach of the Year Award. Lund's teams have qualified for the NJCAA Region 13 Tournament both seasons under his watch and his teams have gone 47-40. This year, the Pioneers went 26-20 overall and posted an impressive 17-3 record against division opponents while claiming the first division chamionship in program history.
