The Northland Pioneers Athletic Hall of Fame was started in the Fall of 2004. Plans had been in the discussion stage for a number of years when than Athletic Director Deb Jacobson made it a reality with the first inductees representing the "true Pioneers."
"There have been many individuals who have not only performed well on the court or field, but have also contributed throughout their lives. It was time that we gave them the recognition they deserve." said Deb Jacobson.
There are four basic categories for which a person may qualify for induction, they are:
- Administrator/Coach
- Student/Athlete
- Team
- Special Contributor
