Sam Schumacher

Sam Schumacher joined the Pioneers in the fall of 2017 from Dakota Wesleyan University where he spent the two previous seasons as the assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator.

Schumacher grew up playing football, basketball, and baseball in Casselton, ND, for Central Cass High School. He went on to play college baseball at Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) in Mitchell, SD, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. Schumacher was a 4-year contributor, receiving an All-Conference selection during his senior year. Following graduation, Sam was a graduate assistant for two years at DWU and worked as a recruiting coordinator and hitting/infield coach, while earning his master’s in education and administration policies. He helped guide the 2015 DWU team to the Great Plains Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament Championship. He also has several years of experience as a head coach in the Pioneer League, which is a wood bat collegiate summer league based out of Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota.

Sam Schumacher resides in Thief River Falls, MN and also works for the NCTC Foundation in student housing.
